In collaboration with ibiye camp, we have renovated the building bit by bit, employing local craftspeople. We have knocked down walls to open up space and introduce more light inside the building and maintaining some of the building’s original features. Outside we have reduced the footprint of the built area in the compound to re-introduce plants and trees to the urban area.
In early 2020 Rosie Lowe and I recorded our joint project ‘son’ using the Freetown studio, collaborating with family and local artists.
The project is ongoing.
