Moving Microphones #1

A loose musical composition performed on an acoustic instrument, recorded by participants moving around environment with microphones.

Participants are given microphones and monitoring headphones to record the live performance from any perspective they desire. In doing so the participants also document ambient sound from the environment as well as the sound of themselves moving around. The monitoring headphones allow the people recording to hear how the positioning of the microphone drastically affects the sound recorded and can be used as a compositional tool.
